DP83TD510E: Question about multiple connection

Dear TI experts,

My customer considers DP83TD510E for their new product, and they have few questions.

1. I can make 1:1 connection when I use Single Pair Ethernet PHY.

How about 1:n connection? Should I use SPE switch? Do you have any IC for SPE switch?

2. they want to make a connection for 100Mbps, 2km distance. Can you specify the specification of the cable?

(i.e. CAT 5e, AWG24 or other SPE only cable?)

    Hi Chase,

    [1] DP83TD510E only supports 1:1 connection, we do not have a PHY solution for 1:n connection on MDI side. 1:n switching may be possible for on the MAC-side, however, as some Sitara processors support multiple MAC connections.

    [2] Please refer to this appnote for details on extending cable reach with T1L. We have reached 2km with Siemens 6XV1830-5EH10 on DP83TD510E, however this is limited to 10Mbps. SPE is the only option here to reach 2km point-to-point.
