TDP0604: Mode pin setting question about TDP0604

Part Number: TDP0604

Tool/software:

Hi sir,

My customer use TDP0604 at their video host application. In their test, they modify GPIO setting to fix video flashing question at high resolution (4K 60Hz).

In their experiment, they pull high mode pin and the issue will be fixed. But there's no definition about mode = 1 at datasheet. Is there any sepcial function about mode = 1 at TDP0604, or is it ok to set mode = 1?g

Best regards,

Gary Teng

Is it possible to share the full portion of the TDP0604 schematic?

For example, AC_EN is being pulled high for AC coupled output, but the text says 'DC coupled'. Also the LINEAR_EN pin is also being pulled to GND through a 20k resistor which is a RESERVED setting. I want to make sure we are properly configuring TDP0604.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

FYI. They modify GPIO setting as pic I post prevrious. What other part you want to check?

    Regards,

Are they using TDP0604 in pin-strap or I2C mode? The schematic itself shows TDP0604 to be in I2C mode if MODE pin is floating. If this is the case, then can you please share their register dump of TDP0604? If they change the mode pin to 1, then you are in pin-strap mode and we have to look at the pin-strap mode configuration which does not look correct.

    1. LINEAR_EN needs to be pulled to GND through a 1k resistor to set TDP0604 in limited mode

    2. AC_EN needs to be pulled to GND for DC coupled output

    3. TXSWING needs to be pulled to GND through a 1k resistor to set Default 1000mVpp amplitude

    4. Leave TX_PRE to floating for 0dB de-emphasis

    5. Pull CTLEMAP_SEL high through a 1k resistor

    6. CFG0 and 1 needs to be pulled to GND through 1k resistors

    Thanks

  • dear david;

If I don't use I2C mode, all GPIOs can be set as above, right?

If there are black shadows passing through the screen in 4k2k/60hz mode, this is usually a problem with the settings there??

  • Hi,

In pin strap mode, can you please make the following modifications? Have you also done HDMI2.0 compliance testing?

    1. LINEAR_EN needs to be pulled to GND through a 1k resistor to set TDP0604 in limited mode

    2. AC_EN needs to be pulled to GND for DC coupled output

    3. TXSWING needs to be pulled to GND through a 1k resistor to set Default 1000mVpp amplitude

    4. Leave TX_PRE to floating for 0dB de-emphasis

    5. Pull CTLEMAP_SEL high through a 1k resistor

    6. CFG0 and 1 needs to be pulled to GND through 1k resistors

    Thanks
