Hi,Yadong
Section 11.1.3 describes the layout recommendations for all the TUSB8041 differential pairs: USB_DP_XX, USB_DM_XX, USB_SSTXP_XX, USB_SSTXM_XX, USB_SSRXP_XX, and USB_SSRXM_XX. So the 8in requirement applies toward both the TUSB8044A upstream and the downstream ports using FR4 and standard 6 layer stackup, The insertion loss will vary based on board material and stack up. We can also review their layout to help them achieving the best signal integrity.
Thanks
David
Hi Daivd,
If host to HUB up to 6 inches and HUB to device up to 6 inches, and used the cable will cause -2db lose. Does the TUSB8044A support it?
many thanks~
Hello,

Thanks,

Yadong
Is this a standard USB cable? Where is the cable being used?
The 8in guideline given in the datasheet assumes the host and the hub are on the same PCB without the external cable.
Thanks
David
Hi Yadong:
There is hub layout guidance in datasheet on page 57.
