PCA9534A: Any plan for EOL? Long life support

Hi, I understand this is rather an old but very common part.  Is there any EOL plan for this part and if there is, will there be an drop-in replacement?  As the recommended new part suggested online is of an different package.

    The PCA9534A will be sold as long as there are customers that buy it.

    If you want to be able to use both the PCA9534A and the TCA9534A, then you should use the TSSOP package. (And the TCA is cheaper.)

    Thank you for your question. 

    EOL plan has not been discussed for this part. Although older, the device is still used in the market and datasheet was recently updated as of March 2021. 

    If the device were to EOL for some reason, drop-in is the newer TCA9534A which is made with newer process technology, has wider VCC range, and faster speeds up to fast mode 400kHz. 

    TCA9534A is drop-in both in electrical connection, characteristic, and same register sets so software will be the same. 

    Consider using p2p compatible packaging like Clemens suggested. TSSOP is the overlapping package type between PCA9534A and TCA9534A.
