Hi,

Q1. I am looking for an IC that can extend HDMI signals.

I would like an IC that can extend the signal by applying corrections to both the input and output sides like the DS22EV5110. However, the DS22EV5110 is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEW DESIGNS, so are there any replacements?

Q2. In addition to Q1, is there an IC that can extend the cable distance by about 50m? I'm also open to suggestions for a two-chip configuration. Would it be possible to achieve this by combining a redriver and a retimer?

DS16EV5110 may be applicable for your design. Additionally i was able to find other parts - including retimer as well. Please note link below:

Is the DS16EV5110 an IC that can correct the input signal and output it? What is the difference between it and the DS22EV5110?

And what about Q2? From looking at the datasheet, it seems that 50m transmission is not possible with the DS16EV5110 alone. Are there any TI solutions that can extend the cable distance by about 50m?

Hi Conor,

1). DS16EV5110 is for the sink side while DS22EV5110 was on the source side.

2). This depends on your cable insertion loss. Please note table 2 of the DS16EV5110 data sheet indicating typical gain at different settings. As long as your 50m cable has this loss then it should be ok.
