Hi User,

Is this for a particular Compliance Test, can you provide the standard name/number?

Can you circle where the short is occurring?

If it is directly at the pins, TRD_P and TRD_M and would not be able to withstand 16V.

Hi,thanks for you reply.

This test comes from some car makers.

If DC 16V shorts to the Automotive Connector pins, NOT directly at the TRD_P/N.

Can TRD_P/N withstand this voltage surge?

Hi,

The PHY cannot withstand 16V directly from the battery even if it is shorted at the connector.

However, if the rise time to 16V is adjusted slow enough, it may be possible the PHY will not be damaged.
