what kind ouf output structure has the transeiver. My customer asks if it is push pull for a and b channel.

I found this appnote:

Yes; all RS-485 drivers have push/pull outputs (with reverse-current and overvoltage protection).

Hi Jan,

Yes, that should be correct. The RS485/RS422 differential outputs are basically H-bridge drivers. They will be able to handle slight overvoltage and protect against back biasing using low forward voltage Schottky diodes. (As Clemens has stated).

I think the older technology used BJTs, newer devices use FETs.
