In addition to the Re-Driver capability of the DS560MB410, it can also perform as Mux.

in our application we want to use this Re-Driver in addition to its driving function as a MUX between 2 types of signals, NRZ and PAM4.

both signals are 12GHz and we want to change the cross point during data communication.

We have two questions regarding the above:

Is this possible on the fly using one or more of the MUXSEL IO’s or do we have to perform this cross only with channel register change?
Also what is the speed of the transition between lanes?
The Turn-ON time (SEL to Output) and Turn-OFF time (SEL to Output).

Hi Gal,

Glad to hear that you're interested in DS560MB410.

Regarding your use case, please note that PAM4 is not supported in the "cross" configuration mode of the cross point. Because of this, I'd recommend that you consider switching between fanout modes. I believe this will functionally accomplish your goal while avoiding the "cross" mode case.

Yes, it is possible to accomplish this using the MUXSEL pins. Note that the diagram below shows the impact of switching MUXSEL state.
Also what is the speed of the transition between lanes?
The Turn-ON time (SEL to Output) and Turn-OFF time (SEL to Output).
For a previous generation device with similar architecture (DS280MB810), this time was about 1.4 us between MUXSEL state change to output change. Is there a target time for your application? If so, I could check on DS560MB410 to see if it meets your target.
