SN65HVD63: Conflicting test results of lowest input level Vs. Data Sheet

Part Number: SN65HVD63
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD62EVM

Tool/software:

Hello Interface Team, my customer is evaluating our SN65HVD63 and are seeing a discrepancy in test results of lowest input level seem that do not match the Data Sheet Spec, which should be -15dBm.

Our Customer procured a SN65HVD62EVM locally and modified with SN65HVD63 sample. I sent them more samples of SN65HVD63 which they replaced on SN65HVD62EVM and they retested a 2nd time.

************************

Following is my test setup.

I use a RF attenuator (DC-6G, 50ohms. 1dB step tunable), the AISG channel 1 is set at max output level.

The power rail is 3.1V, actually I tried higher voltage, no difference.

TX input is a square wave, 50% duty cycle, 115.2KHz, 38.4KHz and 9.6KHz.

Checking the TX out at channel 2.

Got following test results

Vendor

Max Out with the load 50 ohms (dBm)

Max Attenuate (dB)

Lowest Input Level (dBm)

115.2KHz

38.4KHz

9.6KHz

115.2KHz

38.4KHz

9.6KHz

The test results of lowest input level seem not match that in Spec, which should be -15dBm.

Need your support to find out the reason and do the improvement.

Any help in diagnosing the discrepancy is appreciated.
