TUSB422: Is tusb422 suitable as a DP alt mode controller

Yes, you can use the TUSB422 as a DP alt mode controller. However, you would also need some sort of MCU, such as an MSP430.

Typically, we recommend PD controller for this task instead, as these do not need an MCU, and can perform the task by themselves. An example device for this would be the TPS65987D: https://www.ti.com/product/TPS65987D
