DP83TC812R-Q1: Looking for DP83TC812 EVM with MII interface option

I am planning to establish a MII interface between Hercules TMS570LC43x HDK and DP83TC812x-Q1 PHY chip, but  cant get any EMV that has MII  pin out. Can you please suggest any DP83TC812 EVM  board that have MII interface option. The only one found in the market is  DP83TC812EVM-MC which is a media converter.

    Hello Mohammed,

    Unfortunately DP83TC812EVM-MC is the only available EVM. For evaluation with processor and PHY, it is recommended to perform the evaluation on custom PCB. We have available resources to assist with your design, and can support schematic/layout review. Please see DP83TC812-SCHEMATIC-REVIEW-CHECKLIST.

    I am thinking to replace PHY chip DP83TC811R on DP83TC811SEVM by DP83TC812 chip. Can you please confirm that this replacement is pin-2-pin and form factor compatible.

    Hi Mohammed,

    Challenges can be faced when blue wiring the MAC interface. Timing requirements, signal quality, etc. may be difficult to meet in this case. It is recommended to design the custom board with PHY and MAC on same board.

    If you decide to go this route, DP83TC811 and DP83TC812 are footprint compatible but not exactly pin to pin compatible. Please refer to SNLA340 for the required board changes.
