Unused outputs like 2R can be left open.

As shown in table 2 and figure 7, A/B inputs have internal pull-up/-down resistors that prevent floating and can be left open.

Hi Ryan,

Clemens is correct. Do not directly GND the 2R pin since it is a CMOS output that could potentially drive high and cause a short.
