Hi,

We would like to use the DS90UH983-Q1 with the DS90UB988-Q1 on our platform, but I couldn't find the initialization documents.

How can we obtain them?

    Hi Jared,

    For the FPD-Link IV, 98x devices, we have a Script Generation tool that can be used to set the User Configurations and it will automatically generate an initialization script. Please contact your local TI FAE or representative to access the ScriptGen Tool and ALP GUI profiles, and they can share the files to you.

    Hi Ikram,

    We are still in the evaluation and design phase and do not have a FAE contact window. Can you provide me the FAE contact window? I am located in Taiwan.

    And can I get the setting table if I buy the DS90UH983-Q1 EVM?

    You can buy the EVM but for some of the supporting collateral you would still need access through your contact.

    Hi Ikram,

    I have obtained "98x Script Gen Tool v5.6.zip", but when I run "98x Script Gen v5p6.py", I get the error message

    " File "98x Script Gen v5p6.py", line 182, in <module>
    import cFraction as cF
    ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cFraction' ".

    "cFraction" does not seem to be a standard library. How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Jared,

    Are you using the ALP (Analog Launch Pad) GUI for this? Please download and open ALP, also make sure to have the ALP profiles for these devices which can be found on CDDS. You can go to the scripting tab on ALP and run this file, and it should generate another config file within that folder.

    I have install ALP GUI tool.

    Do I need a DS90UH983-Q1 EVM to use the ALP tool? Can I use the ALP tool without connecting to a DS90UH983-Q1 device?

    Is there a user guide for the ALP tool?

    Hi Jared,

    Yes you can use ALP without the EVM connected, in "demo mode".

    1. Modify the User Config file for your application

    2. Have the User Config file saved, in the same folder with the 98x Script Gen file. 

    3. Open ALP. Go to the "Scripting" tab, then press run and select the 98x Script Gen file. This will generate a 98xConfig.py file within that same folder. This will have the initialization sequence to write to the device registers for your configuration. The top of the file will have a summary of the settings used.

    4. Once you have EVMs connected, and ALP connected from your PC, you can run the 98xConfig.py file to initialize.
