SN65DPHY440SS: use with DSI Screen

Part Number: SN65DPHY440SS

Tool/software:

Hello,

I would like  to use SN65DPHY440SS between MIPI DSI type LCD screen and a micro controller, to improve signal integrity.

I would like to implement a SN65DPHY440S between the MPU and the Driver IC of my LCD.

I have a couple a question,

- Can we use the SN65DPHY440SS  WITHOUT the I2C interface of the device. I will implement either pull up or pull down on the VSADJ_CFG0 & EQ/SCL & ERC/SDA & PRE_CFG1

- The SN65DPHY440SS has the bidirectional LP mode supported, but i don't understand how it is set.

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Regards.

  • Hi,

    Please see my response below.

Yes, you can configure DPHY440 in pin strap mode.

One of the four lanes is used for back channel communications between GPU and DSI panel. DPHY440’s lane 0 is the only lane that supports the back channel. For this reason, DPHY440 lane 0 must always be connected to lane 0 of GPU and panel.

    Thanks
