TCAN1042-Q1: Why is the data on RX like this?

Part Number: TCAN1042-Q1

Tool/software:

hello

i used the TCAN1042-Q1,Use with TPS929240 as a private CAN control,i checked  the RX and TX Waveform and found you can see not only RX data but also TX Data on RX. i would like to ask why?

please refer to the following picture. Is this related to the configuration of the CAN transceiver?Or is this related to the configuration of CAN control? please explain to me.

thank you

best regards

  • Hi Qinlei,

This is normal in a single node setup. Often used for diagnostics. However, abnormal for multi-nodes and can be due to transceiver, controller, or both. If possible, verify CAN transceiver in a known working configuration to see if issue persists. I recommend to use a different CAN node and observe if issue occurs so as to help isolate issue.

    • Issue can occur if configured in loopback mode. Verify configuration settings if loopback mode is enabled.
    • Ensure proper termination
    • Ensure TX and RX are not improperly wired or shorted.
    • Ensure the controller is set to receive messages with filtering, as it may show its own TX messages as RX.
    • Ensure software driving the controller is not incorrectly configured to receive its own messages or in a state that allows echoing of transmitted message, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
