TUSB5461-Q1: Regarding TUSB546 & TUSB564 CC pin FLIP & NON FLIP

Part Number: TUSB5461-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB564

Tool/software:

Regarding TUSB546 & TUSB564 CC pin FLIP & NON FLIP, I am curious as shown in the following picture.

1. CC1 (TUSB546) -> CC1 (TUSB564) : NON FLIP
2. CC2 (TUSB546) -> CC2 (TUSB564) : FLIP
3. CC1 (TUSB546) -> CC2 (TUSB564) : CC1 NON FLIP?? CC2 FLIP??
4. CC2 (TUSB546) -> CC1 (TUSB564) : CC2 FLIP ?? CC1 NON FLIP??

Should we implement it with FLIP & NON FLIP like number 3 and 4?

  • Hi Jun,

    The PD/CC controllers should be able to handle any CC negotiation, and the Type-C cable should be able to handle any routing of the CC lines. Just ensure that CC1 and CC2 connect to the corresponding pins on the type-C connector, and there shouldn't be any issues with negotiation, so long as the PD/CC controller connects to the TUSB546/564 correctly.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
