TCA9548A: TCA9548APWR fakes?

Hi all,

In my latest production batch I received a lot of complains about having issues with the I2C bus.
When debugging I noticed the TCA9548APWR switch is not responding to any commands.

Then I started noticing difference in the chip markings.
Took my EMS a risk and bought from brokers without informing me?

The ones with the white dot marking do not work. How can I check how the chips should look?

Where did you order these units from and when?
Do you have the sticker/receipt of the order? It will provide further details about their shipment and fabrication.

I wasn't able to find lot information from what shown in the packages.

My EMS started ordering this via his "trusted" broker back in 2022 when sourcing was a big challenge.
Does TI make these chips with the white laser engraved pin 1 marking?

Hello,

I have never seen this white engraving on our packages.
I was also unable to find this lot in our internal system.

Can you share who your broker is? They might have ordered the "wrong" parts.
