DS250DF230: Need an assistance for helping the Eye capture

Part Number: DS250DF230
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hello,

We are incorporating the DS250DF230RTV retimer intou our design and intend to perform an eye capture using Sigcon architect.

Currently , we do not have the EVM and USB2ANY adapter available. How can we perform an eye capture in this hardware configuration? additionally, we are encountring an issue where the Aardvark I2C adapter is unable to detect the retimer chip as a slave device.

could you please provide guidance on the correct setup and troupleshooting steps for these issues?

  • Hi Sankar,

Unfortunately, SigCon Architect cannot be used with the Aardvark. SigCon Architect only functions with a USB2ANY interface between PC and and device.

SMBus register read/write can be done with Ardvark I2C without using the SigCon Architect GUI. Please ensure EN_SMB is pulled with 1kΩ to VDD AND Read_EN_N is left floating to enable SMBus slave mode.

Additionally, you can reconstruct eye-opening monitor with SMBus reads. Please refer to 8.3.10.3 Eye-Opening Monitor in the datasheet. We do not usually do this so so support on our side will be limited.

    Best,

    Charles
