External filter for SN65HVD62(AISG MODEM)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD62, SN65HVD62EVM

Hi~

Our customer will use SN65HVD62.

As you know, Competitor is MAX9947 of MAXIM company.

If you see max9947 datasheet, Recommend that use external RF filter(C-L-C).

I can't find external filter information to SN65HVD62 datasheet.

If you see SN65HVD62EVM manual, It can fild External filter(C-L-C) in Schematic.

But, Real Part of L1/L2 is capacitor. Our customer need C-L-C Filter value that meet AISG standard.

If don't need external filter, Please support related document

  • Hi Jayden,

I am new to AISG, so you will have to forgive me with some of these questions. I will work with my team to get you the answers you need, once I understand the question.

Where in the MAX9947 datasheet are you seeing the recommendation for the C-L-C filter and what values did you find? I just scrolled through the datasheet and was not able to find anything on recommended filter values.

Also, what part of the AISG standard are you referring to that we do not meet with the shown 0.22µF series cap, with the 470µF cap to ground? Any attenuation that is caused by this capacitive voltage divider can be offset with gain using the BIAS and RES pins.

From my perspective the external filter is not needed, it just aids the system level performance. A passive 2nd order or even 3rd order filter on the coax termination will just further filter the high frequencies that are already being filtered by the input band pass filter.

Please elaborate on your concerns and I will work on getting you the information that you need.

    Thanks,

    John
