LVDS to 5V TTL clock

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65ELT21, SN65LVDS101

Hello,

I need to interface an LVDS 4MHz clock to a 5V TTL input. Can I use SN65ELT21? If I can, what is the procedure for interfacing an LVDS signal to a PECL input? I found a lot of examples of the opposite (PECL to LVDS), but not the one I need.

Regards,

Julia

  • Hi Julia,

Yes you can use the SN65ELT21 to translate from PECL to TTL.

Take a look at this app note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/scaa062/scaa062.pdf. It explains how to go from LVDS to LVPECL/PECL. Also take a look at the SN65LVDS101 to translate from LVDS to LVPECL/PECL.

    Regards,

    Mike
