Hi Team,

There is concern over how long the ISO7342C can be subjected to high voltages (1kVDC continuously) before the isolation barrier breaks down. Does TI have any documentation about MTTF (Mean Time To Failure), FIT (Failures In Time), or other test data that assures reliability at certain voltages with respect to time?

Hi Trenton,

We perform Time Dependent Dielectric Breakdown (TDDB) testing on our isolators. TDDB is done using AC (rms) voltage which is much more stringent on the insulation barrier compared to DC voltage. We also perform extensive high voltage DC (charge spread) testing on these devices.

I've attached average lifetime TDDB graph for this family of isolators.
