TPD3F303 pinout

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD3F303

I've been wondering TPD3F303 pinout presented on the datasheet. TPD3F303 package top view is different from Figure 1. board layout, which has flipped pinout. I'm assuming that package pinout is correct, but are In signals really meant to be connected to SIM card as layout figure suggests? To me In should refer to SIM controller and Out pins should be filtered/protected signals since CLK and RST are going from controller to card. At least this is what other manufacturers use for naming.

  • Ville,

I see what you're talking about with the reverse pin numbering. The thing to keep in mind is that, since the device is symmetrical, you can flow from Pin 1 to Pin 2, or from Pin 2 to Pin 1. The same holds true for the Pin 2-7 and Pin 3-6 pairs.

    Regards,
  • Thanks for the answer. I was wondering if the circuits are symmetrical, but it wasn't stated in datasheet though device schematics suggest this. There's a note that DATA1 and DATA2 can be used interchangeably. Still, the pinout and layout figure don't match due to Vcc pin 5. I'm assuming that pin and package pad numbering match and only layout figure is wrong. This is clear now, thanks again for quick answer.
