Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9548AEVM

Dear TI-er.

I am testing TCA9548AEVM with MSP-EXP430G2.

I am downloaded slac435f.zip file.

But, MSP430G2331 binary file isn't work.

Can you support MSP430G2331 source file ?

plz help me.

  • Hello Kiyoung,

    Are you getting an error?

Can you post the steps you are doing and be specific so that I can see exactly what steps you are taking.

Tyoically, there is a .bat file which you run after you connect the launchpad. This .bat file will automatically upload the binary to the launchpad.

  • Kiyoung,

After inspecting this EVM, I was mistaken, and this EVM does not come with software.

It is meant to be used with an i2c master. To use a launchpad to do this, you would have to program the software/firmware yourself in order to communicate with the switch and the downstream temperature sensors.

There are some tools which exist, that act as a USB to I2C bridge/tool, and allow you to use a GUI on your computer to comunicate on an I2C bus. Search online for a USB to I2C Bridge, and this will likely be the fastest and easiest way to interface with the EVM if you do not already have such a diagnostic tool. I see some online starting at $23.90 on newegg. This might be the easiest approach if you do not already have firmware developed for the device.
