Hello,

When DC-Balance is enabled and the Data Valid input to the serializer is logic HIGH, then SYNC characters are transmitted.

When DC-Balance is disabeled and Remote Sense is enabled or disabled, Are SYNC characters transmitted?

    Hi Iwasaki-san,

    After a lookthrough of the DS32EL0421 datasheet (see p. 14), SYNC characters are not transmitted from the DS32EL0421 if DC-Balance is disabled, regardless of how Remote Sense is set.

    When DC-Balance is enabled, TXIN 4+/- acts as a "Data Valid" signal, where if it asserts HIGH, the K28.5 SYNC code is transmitted and TXIN0-3 +/- are ignored. If DC-Balance is disabled, then data formatting and transmission of SYNC characters must be handled instead by the FPGA or external source in order to DC balance the data.
