Is there any part that is recommended for SDIO interface (Micro SD) in particular.

What is the reason for recommending this part for SDIO Interface ??
Can you please confirm on this part as I did not find anywhere in Datasheet mentioned as SDIO Interface ?
Can you please elaborate the reason ?

Hi Nanjunda,

Please see the attached application chart for some interfaces showing the application of TPD6F003 for Memory SDIO. We were more abstract in the data sheet and in the product folder describing it only as Memory Card.Integrated Protection Devices.pptx

Thanks for the response.

When I was going through http://www.ti.com/lit/sg/sszb130b/sszb130b.pdf this document & I found recommended part as TPD8E003.

So now I'm in confusion to use any one of them, Can you please suggest me , which would be the best option to go with ?

Hi Nanjunda,

Good question. TPD6F003 is our typical recommendation for SDIO. It has an RC filter for EMI suppression, as well as TVS diodes for ESD suppression. We also have it in 8-channels with TPD8F003. If you don't need the EMI filtering, TPD8E003 is a good choice. My apologies for there being multiple part recommendations for the same interface among our different marketing documentation. There are many more choices which would be appropriate.

For the SD SDIO I recommend the following:

For EMI filtering and ESD protection:
- TPD6F003
  - If write-protect and card-detect pins are not utilized
- TPD8F003
  - If WP and CD are utilized
For ESD protection:
- TPD8E003

If these devices do not meet your needs, please do not hesitate to share with me some details regarding your particular implementation and I will be happy to help suggest a more appropriate solution.

I'm using the SDIO interface for micro SD card interface in my design.

I have only 7 signals in it. Is it right to leave the unused pin floating ?
