Hi,
In the serializer SN65LVDS301 specification, there is a specification which says the maximum differential output voltage should not be more than at 200mV. My understanding, based on the formula |VD+ -VD-|, is the peak to peak of the differential output should not exceed 200mV (and if I measure either D+ or D- with respect to ground, i.e common mode(?), it should not be more than 75mV).
However, later on the the specification where it shows the typical output characteristics, the peak to peak voltage is |(175 - (-175)| => 350mV as shown below. This is also similar to what I've measured on my board.
My concern now is on the SN65LVDS314 datasheet, there is also a similar specification which requires the magnitude of the differential input voltage to be less than 200mV. Does it means I've exceeded the limit if I connect the output of SN65LVDS301 serializer above directly to the input of SN65LVDS314 deserializer?
Hope to get advise for you. Thank you very much.
Thanks and best regards,
KH
