TUSB8040A versus TUSB8040A1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040A1, TUSB8040A, TUSB8041

If the TUSB8040A1 is the exact replacement for TUSB8040A, does that mean I can use the A version for my production board which was designed for the A1 version?  Was this change only a documentation change and the IC's are identical?

  • Hi Glenn,

TUSB8040A1 is an improved version of TUSB8040A in which errata items that are required for USB Implementers Forum certification has been fixed .
Both are P2P compatible so you can replace it on existing design.

By the way, we recommend to use TUSB8041 instead.

    Regards.

  • I have a customer that needs to do ten boards using the TUSB8041A1 quickly, but no-one seems to have any in stock (they need ten of them). They asked whether they could use the "A" (vs. "A1") version instead, and I told them about the errata that you mention. They are asking for more information about what those errata are, and I cannot find any details anywhere about this. Can you help?
