This 10'h27C is really confusing. According to 8b10b, shouldn't K28.1 be for 10'h27C?

Yes you are right, sorry for the confusion. The K28.1 is used as word alignment, on the other hand the K28.3 if for carrier extend.

There is lack of consistency here. In other answers I found that the character used as marker depends in the mode the of 8/10 decoder/encoder. If it is disable then the market looked for is 10bit, but if it is enable, the marker is 8 bit + k.

The default marker is 0x27C and by default 8/10bit decoding is enabled. So my understand is that the marker is K28.3.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Additional questions that were not answered in other threads:

1. The recovered clock that I am getting is 156Mhz although the reference is 125Mhz and my data stream is 10G. Can you help understand why?

2. The LS side is transmitting K30.7 constantly. Can you explain why this occurs? Is this something that is sent till the receiver is aligned or at least see one K28.3?

If you write 0x33C at 0x8001, 0x8002, this is K28.3+.

Could you tell me what is the value for 0x02 and 0x15. Is possible that the PLL is modifying the recovered frequency clock.

The values are default. I am not configuring anything in the chip and at this point I don't have a way to read from MDIO.
I am using 125Mhz refclk.

 TLK10022 datasheet mentions "ch sync state machine" but I cannot locate it. Do you have other files I can refer?  

In default,  auto train between TX and RX is enabled.  During auto train, what does RX expect to recieve?  Is it 10'h2BC which is equivenlent K28.5 if 8b10b is enabled ?
