DS90C187: pin CNTL

Part Number: DS90C187
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CR286

Hi,

I have seen in your datasheet pin named CNTRL (L/R) but what is goal of this pin ? and what is pin number ?

thnaks

best regards

  • Hi loic,

The CNTRL (L/R) pin is an extra pin that is included in the OpenLDI serialization (7:1 serialization per LVDS channel). Only 27 bits are needed for standard RGB mapping (24 bits for RGB, 1 bit for HS, 1 bit for VS, 1 bit for DE). Thus, there will be one bit left over since each clock period has 7 serialized bits.

The CNTRL represents the 28th bit, or INA_27 (Pin No. B19). If you use the B-channel for Odd/Even functionality, then CNTRL also applies to the 28th bit of the even pixels, or INB_27 (Pin No. A23). You can use this as as General Purpose signal or leave it floating if unused.

    Regards,

  • Hi Michael,

I have anotherquestion : I need to manage an lcd cluster 1920x720 but this lcd has 2 interface lvds : one for 960x720 (left) and second for 960x720 (right).

do you have a chip solution for manage this type of lcd ?

    thanks for your feedback

    best regards
  • Hi Mickael,

I have another question : I will use DS90CR187 for serializer and DS90CR286 for deserializer in single port. Dual port shloud be used in another mode but done only with DS90CR187

is it OK for you ?

    thnaks for your support

    best regards
