Hello,

Are there any plan to release RS232C tranceiver which have 3Mbps datarate ?

  • Ryuji,

The closet part for replacement would be TRSF3232E or SN75C3232, although they don't have the Vl pin.

Speaking 3Mbps data rate communication, this depends on the actual customer application as the standard doesn’t specify anything faster than a few of KHz. If we compare TRSF3232E with MAX13235E, they both support min 1Mbps data rate with RL=3kOhm and CL=250pF. There is extra line showing MAX13235E can go to 3Mbps with RL=3kOhm and CL=150pF. I hope you get my point why the spec is application dependent. High speed RS232 transceivers are on TI's roadmap. I think they will be able to go beyond 3Mbps for some specific applications. If you have any detailed requirement from customer, you can let us know as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.
