DS15EA101: Input (VIN) range

Part Number: DS15EA101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS15BA101

Hello,

The DS15EA101 data sheet only lists Vin(Max) in the DC Electrical Characteristics.  Later on page 5 under the heading "Input Interfacing" the input amplitude minimum is given as 800 mv pk-pk +/- 10%.  Curious as to why this was not stated in the DC Electrical Characteristics.

Also, Figure 4 on page 6 shows an example of a cable extender using the DS15BA101 as a driver and the DS15EA101 as the receiver.  The data sheet for the DS15BA101also shows this example, and states under the DC characteristics that the output is typically 400 mv (single ended).  With the DS15BA101 only providing a 800 mv typical differential output, how will it work with the DS15EA101 if the input requirement is at the +10% side of the characteristic (880 mv)?  What if the output of the DS15BA101 is less than typical?

Thanks for any help,

Rob Curtis
