DS32EL0421: Connecting DS32EL0421 to DS32ELX0124 error

Part Number: DS32EL0421
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS32ELX0124, DS32ELX0421

Dear Sir/Madam,

We built 2 prototypes boards:

board 1) connecting an image sensor to serializer DS32ELX0421

board 2) connecting a CPU to deserializer DS32ELX0124

We tested out the 2 boards via cat 6 cables and can successfully display the image on the CPU.

Subsequently, we changed to first board from DS32ELX0421 to DS32EL0421 while board 2 remain the same and retested the 2 boards.

The new and old board are mainly the same except changing from DS32ELX0421 to DS32EL0421.

We are unable to output the image correctly.

My questions:

1) can we connect DS32EL0421 to DS32ELX0124 or only DS32ELX0421 to DS32ELX0124? (note the X)

2) when we measured the lock signal at the deserializer, its will occasionally toggle between low and high.

Is there any important points to take note to debug this?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

There should not be any issues in switching between the DS32ELX0421 to the DS32EL0421. Have you measured the signal / eye diagram at the input to the DS32ELX0124 and determine if there are any differences in jitter? Are you able to provide a summary of any other changes to determine if these can be attributed to the communication issues?

    Regards,
    Ryan
