SN65LVDM176: Maximum output current

Guru 16770 points

Hi

1.

Is there limitation of maximum output current from R terminal (1 pin) for the receiver?

2.

According to the Figure 11, 12 of datasheet, sink current is ~55mA and source current is ~62mA.

Are these maximum?

3.

As for R terminal (1 pin), does the output voltage depend on output current? (Output load?)

BestRegards

  • The output current from pin 1 is specified to be -8mA/8mA according to the datasheet Receiver Electrical Characteristics.  It is possible to sink/source additional current from this output, but I would recommend to limit the current to -20mA/20mA to ensure the output voltage is still at or near the normal level.

Figures 11 and 12 are intended to show the characteristics of the output.  It is not intended to operate the output with such a high current demand.

Yes the output voltage will depend on the output load.  This is shown in Figures 11 and 12.

  • Hi Lee

    Thank you for your reply.
    I understood.
