TPS2540: no CDP device connection with CDP mode

Hi support member,

is any ploblem expected for TPS2540 with CDP mode when no CDP supported device will be connected?

Will handshake time become longer?

Hi Hirotaka,

If a device can not recognize a CDP port, it will most likely identify it as either an SDP port or a DCP port instead. The TPS2546 has auto switching from CDP to SDP and back to CDP for devices that only do primary detection.

The handshake shouldn't be any longer.
