SN65LVCP114: SN651VCP114 hardware design, I want to use GPIO mode simultaneously compatible with I2C mode.

Part Number: SN65LVCP114

SN651VCP114 hardware design, I want to use GPIO mode simultaneously compatible with I2C mode. Is the design of the drawing correct? Power VCC filter does not need to add magnetic beads just add capacitance? We use 10G-KR signal.

  • Greetings.

I am not sure which drawing are you referencing about the VCC filter?

The power supply of this device can work well without the need to add magnetic beads for additional filtering if power is supplied by a captive POL regulator.  If several devices are using the same supply, adding a ferrite bead is a good way to help isolate supply related noise from multiple devices.

It is recommended that a local decoupling capacitor be added to each island of device supply balls.  Some islands have a single ball, others contail 2 VCC connections.

    Regards,

    Lee
