Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2546
Hi,
I am planning a USB-charger where we use the TPS2513 to negotiate the charging current.
The only problem is the comparably high supply current of the TPS2513 at around 150uA.
I would rather have a few uA for reasons of efficiency (Yes, I know 150uA is only a few milliwatt at 5V, but yet...)
Here my questions:
1. What happens, when the IN power supply for the 2513 is removed while DP and DM are connected to the device to be charged?
If the 2513 withstands that, we could turn IN on when recognizing a certain amount of charging current drawn.
2. Is there possibly a device similar to the 2513 but with far less power consumption?
Best regards
Rainer
