DS90LT012AQ-Q1: Open input failsafe for output Low

Hi

We refer AN-1194 application report.

http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla051b/snla051b.pdf

In this user guide, there is the example figure of external failsafe as Figure 3.

IN+ : R1=8K pull up

IN- : R3 = 4.99K pull down

These resistor value would offer output HIGH when open input failsafe occurs.

If output LOW is required, could it be correct to swap R1 and R3?

BestRegards

  • Hello,

If output Low is required, you need to swap the pull up and pull down as follows:
    IN+ : R3 pull down
    IN- : R1 pull up
This will produce -25mV across RT. Just Swapping the resistors will still produce High on the output, since you will still have +25mV across RT.
