Part Number: TSB41BA3B-EP

Hi all,

One customer uses a physical layer chip of 1394 such as TSB41BA3B-EP(or other chip with same functions). He wants to transfer the data received from TPA/B0 directly to TPA/B1 or TPA/B2 without going through the link layer.

He would like to ask how to configure the specific pin to achieve this function? Could you provide some ideas about that?

All PHYs automatically forward packets between all their ports, even if the link is not powered or present. No external configuration is necessary; the PHYs automatically detect the bus topology during the bus reset phase.

A PHY will tell the link layer about a packet only if it is addressed to it.

(All this is required by the IEEE-1394 specifications.)

I apologize. Clemens is correct.
On all multi port nodes, it is 1394 requirement to repeat data on all other ports.

I located 1394 Trade Association design guide.
It has note on correct usage for repeater node. I found this document here:
