TPS2052: TPS2052BDR Load current limit issues

Hello,

I am using TPS 2052BDR at USB section for load current limit.

Measured following conditions:

Load enabled before boot up -  During this condition TPS 2052 is taking current load of 1A and at 1.1A it is going to short circuit mode.

Load enabled after boot up - During this condition TPS 2052 is taking current load of 1.5A and at 1.6A it is going to short circuit mode.

The datasheet shows, each port load current limit is 500mA, but the device is taking more than 500mA.

Please, check and let us know the current limit values.

    Hi, Harish,

    I think the 500mA current means TPS25xxb can supply 500mA continuous current, not limit value.

    Below is limit value in EC table of datasheet(Page 8).

    Besides, you can refer to figure23 for ''EN to short'' waveform and refer to figure26 for ''enable then overload'' waveform.
