MAX3223E: Embedded firmware?

Hi,

I have been asked to find out if this component we purchased has embedded firmware. Additionally, I need to know who manufactured the firmware and where it was manufactured, if it is embedded. The part number I have is MAX3223EIPWR

    Hi Natalie,

    There is no embedded firmware in this device. It is just a simple "analog" device for translating between logic-level signaling and RS-232 signaling. It would need to interface to a UART/processor/MCU/etc. in order to implement an RS-232 data link.
