The HD3SS214 is designed specifically for Displayport applications. The HD3SS3412 has similar AC specifications for the high speed signals. To be used in a DP1.4 application, it would need to follow a simplified schematic diagram similar to the graphic on the HD3SS214 datasheet front page.
