Hello,

I have board with DS90CR486 x 2 on it connect to FPGA .

I want to connect to it camera link camera with full Full Configuration Camera Link as following :

can I connect it to the DS90CR486 board ? if yes how it can be done ?

Hi Shai,

You can reference this app note for proper connections for the pixel mapping: www.ti.com/.../snla014a.pdf

LVAL=HSYNC
FVAL=VSYNC
DVAL = enable

Please also ensure that the parallel-IO voltage requirements and the pixel clock frequencies are compatible.

Hello ,

First thanks for your answer but I do not think I understand it .

this mean I can connect full spec camera link with 12 LVDSs that each 4 converted to 24bit to 2 DS90CR486 ?

if yes what I am doing with the 4 left LVDS (each DS90CR486 has 8 LVDS convert to 48 bit ) ?

Hi Shai,

I am not familiar with camera link but if you are looking to deserialize 12 LVDS lanes to 96 bits, then 2 DS90CR486's can do this, but you will need to check if the LVDS interfaces are compatible (voltage swing, skew, etc.).

Any unused LVDS deserializer inputs can be left open (floating) because the internal failsafe will pull the input to a valid state.
