TVP5150: Testing the TVP5150 module

Part Number: TVP5150

Hello,

I could see that there is no evaluation board or software to process the 8 - bit decoded video data. I am just trying to test it's working by interpreting it's output signals. Can you please advise me on any specific platform that I can use to view the digital signal outputs from TVP5150 on PC?

Thanks and Regards,

Nandhini Jayapandian

  • The only real way to look at the data is to have some hardware that can capture the digital data. This data is pushed out at 27MHz so most likely you will need either a logic analyzer or some custom hardware.

TI used to have a companion EVM that simply re-generated a component video signal from the decoded CVBS but that is no longer available. You could possibly build something similar by connecting to an analog video encoder.
