ISO1541: Difference between ISO1541 and ISO1541-Q1

Part Number: ISO1541

Wghat is the difference between the two parts ISO1541-Q1 and ISO1541?

  • Hi Jorn,

Thank you for using E2E forum.
ISO1541 is primarily meant for industrial applications whereas ISO1541-Q1 is meant for automotive applications (both can be used for other applications if the spec meet the requirement).
From device functionality point of view under typical operating conditions you may not see any difference is ISO1541 and ISO1541-Q1. The difference lies in the qualification process these two devices go through. ISO1541 goes through the tests and qualification that are relevant for industrial applications whereas ISO1541-Q1 goes through additional AEC-Q100 qualification process.

Qualifying for AEC-Q100 would mean that the device supports extended operating temperature range (though most of TI isolators support similar temperatures for industrial devices as well), <1 DPPM (meaning higher quality of devices), better lifetime under challenging environmental conditions and long term availability of devices. Hence the Q1 devices have higher overall performance compared to industrial devices.

I hope that answers your question, thanks.
