Hi,

I'm looking to convert LVDS to DVI, I have 4 pairs of data (Open LDI 24-bit Single Pixel Mode, Unbalanced).

The goal is to feed a 1920*1080 DVI screen with the maximum framerate possible. The solution needs to be -40° +85°.

As far as I know there isn't a single chip solution to do that so I was looking to do something like this :

LVDS->Parallel-> DVI.

But in this case there was three pairs not 4.

I was looking at the ds90cr286a-q1 and the sn65lvds94 but I'm still looking for the Parallel->DVI part.

Hello Adrien,

Although there exist parts for going from LVDS -- > Parallel --> DVI, I don't believe we have any Open LDI 24-bit Single Pixel Mode LVDS --> Parallel parts that can support that resolution. A 1920 * 1080 screen (assuming 10% blanking and 60 fps) requires at least a 137 MHz pixel clock. We have dual pixel parts (e.g. the DS90CF388) that can support this resolution but they're not suitable for your application.

For parallel --> DVI we have the TFP410, which can support your resolution. However, since the LVDS-->Parallel parts can't support this resolution/ pixel mode I don't believe there is currently a solution for your application.

The 60fps are not a requirement, we could tolerate something around 25.

Hi Adrien,

In that case you'd only need a frequency around 57 to 70 MHz. You can use the DS90CR288A --> TFP410 to acheive this.

Hello I.K.

In that case, since I need a solution in the -40 +85 temperature range I'll go with the http://www.ti.com/product/ds90cr286a-q1 which can go up to 66MHz instead of the DS90CR288A.

Do you know the formula to calculate the framerate ?

Hi Adrien,

The formula I've been using to calculate the frequency is Hactive*Vactive*frame rate*(1+%blanking). I'm not sure if there's a special formula for the frame rate but you can derive it from this equation if the other parameters are known.
