TPS65986: Display Port AUX Channel

Part Number: TPS65986

Hi Team,

I want to clarify about the pull-up/down(PU/PD) register for AUX_P/N pins on TPS65986 in the case of using the device as a DP source. I looked at some documents, for example PMP40154 and SLVUAR1DP. Looking at the circuit in these document, PMP40154 circuit has PD/PU register on AUX_P and PD on AUX_N pin. On the other hand, SLVUAR1DP just puts lands for PU and PD. I'm confused which register to choose on AUX_P/N pins, PU or PD. Does it depend on DP sink side whether pull-up or pull-down is needed and its register value?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hi Saito-san,

The recommendation for pull-up/pull-down resistors for the AUX_P/N lines is typically present in the datasheet for the super speed mux used. For example, the Super Speed mux used in PMP40154 is the HD3SS460. You can find pull-up/down resistor recommendations in the datasheet for the mux.
