My experience is exactly the same as this thread, but I still can't connect to the EVM (invalid address). I have tried with jumpers just as in the EVM guide setup photo and with ADDR0, ADDR1 floating. In my case, I noticed that the USB2ANY J4 cable has I2C(SDA) on pin1 and I2C(SCL) on pin2 with a reference ground on pin5, so I connected those to the EVM J20. As background, when I start SigCon Architect the green indicator on the USB2ANY device flashes and turns solid, I can get the indicator to flash with the software button (although it turns off after that and repeated presses cause the indicator to briefly turn on before going back to off).
