Hello, I'm using the DS64BR111 and have decided to use a 3.3V supply. I just want to verify that in the 3.3V Mode the VDD pins (21,22) are ONLY connected to a 0.1uF cap to ground. Is that correct?

Last, I would like to use the LOS pin to control and LED, is that possible? I understand that it is an open-drain output.

Hi Joe,

Agreed. Since you are in 3.3V supply mode, VDD pins need supply coupling as noted in the data sheet.

Here are other biasing that are needed on other pins - for 3.3V operating mode:
1. Tie VDD_SEL = 0 with 1K resistor to GND.
2. Feed 3.3V supply into VIN pin. Local 1.0 uF decoupling at VIN is recommended.
3. See data sheet information on VDD bypass below.
4. SDA and SCL pins should connect pull-up resistor to VIN
5. Any 4-Level input which requires a connection to "Logic 1" should use a 1K resistor to VIN

Hello, thanks for responding to my post. What about using an LED on the LOS pin?

Hi Joe,

No problem. Just add a series resistor to limit current flow. Value will vary based on LED selected. We usually use a 10mA LED on this output.
