Hi Team,

I would like to ask about the following 3220DFP-DGLEVM.

C5 capacitor isn't installed and Design Note #1 refers the following.
>1. Install only if active discharge circuit exists

What is "active discharge circuit"?

The USB Type-C specification requires a source to discharge VBUS within 650 ms of a detached sink. VBUS discharge is often integrated
into a USB Type-C device, but also can be integrated with a bleeder resistor. So the 10uF is placed as a placeholder in case there is an active discharge circuit.

Hi David-san,

Thank you for your kind support.
Regarding 3220DFP-DGLEVM, there is 1M resistor (R25) so I understand C5 isn't required in this case.
