TCAN1042HGV-Q1: IBIS Model missing Power clamp

Part Number: TCAN1042HGV-Q1

Hi,

I have a question about the IBIS model for the TCAN1042HGV-Q1.

We want to build a LT Spice based model according to the IBIS information for this part.

But for some pins, the VI curve tables are not completed:

e.g. for pin rxd no Power Clmap or GND clamp table.

for pin canh_os no Pulldown table.

Waht should I do for the simulation in LTspice if those data missing?

Thanks a lot and waiting for your feedback.

Best Regards

Suhan Huang

  • Suhan,

I've referenced an app note below that goes over the requirements for different model types in the IBIS model.  For the ones that you mentioned, I believe all the required data exists as defined for the IBIS model.

For the RXD 2-state Output model, Power_Clamp and GND_Clamp data are not required.  A similar kind of information is inherent in the Pullup and Pulldown I-V curves for a 2-state output model.  The voltages should be clamped at the Pullup Reference and the Pulldown Reference levels if necessary.

For the CANH Open-Source Model, this one is similar to the Open Drain Model listed in the app note.  For an open drain model, no Pullup data is required.  And for an Open Source model, no Pulldown data is required.  You will notice that the CANL pin is an Open Drain model and does not include Pullup data.

You should find example circuits of each model in the app note:

Are there any other pins in the model about which you have concerns?  Please let me know if I can clarify anything further.

  • Also, could you clarify what specific information that you are needing to glean out of the IBIS model in order to convert it to an LTSPICE simulation? How exactly are you trying to convert the IBIS information over into an LTSPICE model?

    Thanks,
